Budgets

Spend monitoring in the Databricks account console. Account admins, and workspace admins for the workspaces they manage, create a budget for the whole account or filtered by workspace, product and custom tags, with up to four monthly thresholds in US dollars at list price that email chosen addresses when spend crosses them. Budgets scoped to Unity Gateway, which is also how Genie budgets work, add per-user limits, can block further requests at a threshold and update in near real time, while other budgets can lag up to 24 hours. Budgets went into Public Preview in June 2024 and reached GA in July 2026, and October 2026 added Budget Manager and Budget Viewer roles and a Spend Status API for Unity Gateway budgets.
