Go, Python and Java SDKs shipped weekly releases adding AgentKit, budget spend status and vector search controls
October 2026 was a month of steady releases across the Databricks SDKs for Go, Python and Java, with the Go SDK moving from v0.184.0 to v0.191.0 [22][21][18][15][14][11][10][4]. The Python SDK went from v0.145.0 to v0.158.0 and the Java SDK reached v0.172.0 [23][20][16][13][12][9][6][3][2].
The largest additions were around agents and governance. The AgentKit package and workspace service arrived in the Go SDK in v0.186.0, and the Python SDK added the Agent Kit workspace service in v0.149.0 [18][16]. Both releases removed the Mason package and workspace service, which was a breaking change [18][16]. Later releases added methods to grant, revoke, list and get permissions on AgentKit memory and session stores, and to manage Feature Engineering materialization sets [4][5][6]. Budget spend status methods reached the account-level budgets service in all three SDKs by the end of the month [2][3][4].
Other additions included start and stop methods for vector search endpoints [4][9], Slack and Microsoft Teams notification destinations [14], identity visibility filters and SQL warehouse statement timeouts [15][16], and a PrivateNetworkGateways account service [20][21]. Sandbox file and directory operations, a list_commands method, and duration targets for jobs also shipped [12][11][23].
Practitioners had breaking changes to check. The Go SDK removed ReplicationConfig from sharing.CreateShare and sharing.ShareInfo [10], and both Go and Python removed the effective serverless compute ID field from job tasks [11][13]. The Python SDK fixed parallel downloads in files.download_to for presigned URLs and for paths containing special characters [3]. The Java SDK stopped mistaking small wrapper scripts for the legacy Python CLI during authentication [2].
The CLI and tooling moved too. CLI v1.20.0 removed the Terraform deployment engine for bundles [17], and v1.22.0 and v1.23.0 added the features resource type and workspace.sync_mode [8][1]. The VS Code extension v2.22.0 handled proxies and certificates for SDK calls [7].
