Databricks centered Genie on Genie One, a business-context AI coworker, and made its MCP server generally available

Genie One was the focus of October. Databricks described it as an AI coworker grounded in business context, first for finance teams doing variance analysis, scenario modeling and forecasting [39], then for asset management, where it automated NAV reconciliation and fund data ingestion across a governed business ontology [37]. A post on Genie Ontology said Databricks used it internally to combine human-curated and learned knowledge from first- and third-party sources, alongside custom skills, scheduled tasks, shareable agents and MCP [36].
