AnthropicChangelog · September 2026

Tooling for Claude coding agents expanded across Databricks as users encountered partner endpoint limits.

Claude featured prominently across agentic development workflows within the Databricks ecosystem throughout September 2026. The open source Omnigent framework introduced patterns to deploy agents to Claude Code and other harnesses while routing model calls through Databricks Foundation Model APIs for unified governance and cost tracking [10]. Databricks also released the Unity Gateway CLI to help teams centrally deploy coding agents, manage model selections, and distribute Model Context Protocol tools under workspace budget controls [5] [6]. Supporting these agent workflows, updates to the Databricks CLI preconfigured coding assistants within serverless SSH sessions and added automatic tunnel reattachment for remote development [1] [15] [19].

At the same time, practitioners encountered access barriers when connecting to Claude on managed infrastructure. New Azure Databricks workspaces faced zero-token rate limits on partner pay-per-token Claude endpoints, which blocked requests entirely and prevented developer assistants from functioning even though open models worked normally [2] [3]. Community members also stepped in to publish practical guides after finding Anthropic's official Claude Academy documentation for Databricks data analysis insufficient for real-world setups [4].

In production evaluation, Claude served as a baseline standard for automated grading. Benchmarks conducted in MLflow measured Claude against GPT and specialized alternatives like Jev to evaluate quality, latency, and cost for LLM-as-a-judge pipelines [9]. Additionally, platform reports highlighted upcoming invisible text watermarking across Claude models alongside broader governance features in Unity Catalog [11].
