This talk is about the implementation of a Data Mesh in a Fozzy Group. In our experience, the biggest bottleneck in transition to Data Mesh is unclear data ownership. This and other issues can be solved with (federated) computational data governance. We will go through the process of building a global data lineage with 200k tables, 40k table replications, and 70k SQL stored procedures. Also, we will cover our lessons from building data product culture with explicit and automated tracking of ownership and data quality.
